Interim Fire Chief Named in Buckeye Lake, OH

Sept. 10, 2024
Buckeye Fire Chief Keisha Amspaugh and several firefighters resigned last week.

Buckeye Lake has an interim fire chief, a veteran firefighter familiar with the village.

Jerry Brooks knows the residents and his way around because he used to be a firefighter there.

Brooks replaces Chief Keisha Amspaugh, who resigned suddenly last week, citing lack of support from village officials, , according to WCMH.

A paramedic, certified fire inspector and a firefighter for 42 years, Brooks told a reporter he is interested in being the next chief.

Since several firefighters also resigned when Amspaugh left, mutual aid departments have been responding to incidents.
